Eyelash FAQ
Q: Are Eyelash Extensions safe?
A: They are safe when applied properly. They do not cause damage to your natural lashes, however, they need to be taken care of. The only damage that can be caused is if they are pulled or rubbed especially when you remove eye make-up.
Q: How long do they last?
A: On average, they last three to four weeks and up to six weeks when properly applied and taken care of.
Q: Who applies eyelashes?
A: Fully trained and certified eyelash extension specialists. All of our eyelash specialists have passed our skill exam and have applied at least 500 lash applications.
Q: Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?
A: Yes. We believe you will not need mascara once you have had our quality eyelash extensions, however, if you feel you need to use mascara please remove mascara with warm water if necessary.
Q: Can I swim, take a shower, go to sauna?
A: Yes. Please avoid these activities only five (5) hours after application in order for glue to dry completely.
Q: My eyelashes are very short. Can I have eyelash extensions?
A: Yes. We recommend applying shorter length eyelashes since long eyelashes are heavier and your natural lashes may not able to support them which may make them not last as long.
Nail FAQ
Q: Is there a spa chair at Raffine?
A: No. We focus on cleanliness and sanitation, and use pedicure tubs with disposable liner which will be thrown away after use. With spa chairs there is a risk of Infection from the drains.
Q: Should I make an appointment?
A: Yes, please make an appointment. We offer a no rush nail service and want you to enjoy and relax while you are getting your nails done.
Q: Does Gel cause damage to natural nails?
A: Unlike acrylic nails, Gel application requires very little buffing and damage to your natural nail.
Q: What is the difference between Hard Gel and Soak Off Gel?
A: Hard gel is not able to be soaked off with acetone so they should be filed off.
Q: How are Gel nails removed?
A: A little cotton with acetone on the gel nail and wrapped with foil for about 15 minutes. Gel will be lifted and easily come off without filing or buffing.
Q: Do Nail Technician speak English?
A: All our staff at Raffine is from Japan and our primary language is Japanese. However, we speak only English at Raffine. You will not feel like you are in different country!
